Should Dave Cameron’s son or daughter be the next Prime Minister?
Should Mark Carney’s son or daughter be the next Governor of the Bank of England?
Should Roy Hodgson’s son or daughter be the next England football manager?

No. No of course they shouldn’t you would rightly say. That is just plain stupid to even contemplate such an absurd idea. It would rightly be thought of as a dictatorship, like those idiots in North Korea or like the banking oligarchs of centuries past.

It would be Morally wrong to inherit the Prime Ministers job, after all the Prime Minister is elected by the people, isn’t he?

But what of the Governor of the Bank of England? That’s an appointed position, appointed by whom I wouldn’t know, but if the Governor impressed upon his appointees that his son or daughter was the best option for the job, after the Governor had retired; all that experience to call on, all the contacts to call on, knowing fully the workings of the Bank; much like one of those esteemed ‘Captains of Industry’ handing on the reigns to their heir, it would make perfect sense, wouldn’t it?

What about when Roy Hodgson retires? a man with a wealth of football knowledge, at club level both in this country and abroad and at International level, a man who understands the workings of the FA, the league management committee and the demands of the sponsors. A man respected throughout the world for his honesty and man-management, his tactical nous, his bulging trophy cabinet. Roy would be the perfect mentor for his son or daughter to learn the intricacies of International Football.

What about some of the more esteemed politicians of recent times, you know, the ones with their noses firmly attached to the State trough of expenses, who know the workings, the scams, the right people to talk to, how to use their influence in the right places, what directorships will be up for grabs, how to ‘flip’ second homes, how to maximise their incomes for their benefit, not the taxpayers. You know the ones, the Kinnocks, the Straws, the Crausbys, the Blears, the Blairs, the Rifkinds, the Shapps…. they’d be perfect role models for their spawn to hit the ground running to maximise their bank balances. Maybe.

Why haven’t we thought of this before, Inheritance of power, of position, of entitlement. Inheritance of land and land rights. These people, our betters, surely know what’s best for the country, what’s best for business, best for Arms dealers, Banks and Big Pharma.

Surely if, for example, Dave Cameron, the great Prime minister, the Dear Leader that he is, wanted to pass on all that wisdom, about forming coalitions for his and Nick’s benefit, about starting a war, not only on his own people but also on those foreign johnny’s, about the war on terror, about removing people’s rights, about the long term economic plan, about dealing with those poncy Europeans and telling them whats what, about securing the best deal for wind farming on his father-in-laws land, surely the best man for the job would be his own progeny. Just think, his spawn would inherit Dave’s genes, Dave’s affable nature, Dave’s common sense, Dave’s sense of justice, Dave’s knowledge of entitlement, Dave’s wisdom, Dave’s morals, Dave’s knowing how to do the right thing by hard working families.

It’s a no-brainer, the fruit of Dave’s loins must be the right man for the job. After all Dave comes from and married into the right gene pool, Dave went to the best school, the best university, studied the correct subjects, got the right degree and became a member of the best gentlemen’s clubs, you know, the Bullingdon club, whose members smash up bars and night clubs they do; purely high-spirits, nothing malicious and their fathers will pay for the damage, so no harm done then.

Boris and Junkie George are former members of the hooligan Bullingdon; it must be a membership that needs to be on your CV to enable you to run the country.

So yes Inheritance looks like a great idea, saves on all that Democracy non-sense; asking the people to make the right decisions, when they might get it wrong. Just let Dave and Boris and George’s spawn takeover, to keep us on the straight and narrow, doing the right thing for the country, for the long term economic plan and hard working families.

Look back a few years to a time when the Great Satan was in charge, spending taxpayers money like there was no tomorrow, removing rights the people had for centuries relied on, scouring eastern Europe for voters, laying waste to desert dwellers and dictators alike. Surely his spawn are now of an age where they could tell us whats best for us, they could inherit his mantle of ‘man of peace’ waging war on innocents around the world wherever they be.

No, no I hear you say, how could we be sure that the children of the Psychopaths mentioned above wouldn’t be worse than their parents?

Well we couldn’t be sure. That is why Inheritance of power and position is an abomination.

Thomas Paine puts it best:

                                                                             (Common Sense Feb 14th 1776)

But there is another and greater distinction for which no truly natural or religious reason can be assigned, and that is, the distinction of men into KINGS and SUBJECTS. Male and female are the distinctions of nature, good and bad the distinctions of heaven; but how a race of men came into the world so exalted above the rest, and distinguished like some new species, is worth enquiring into, and whether they are the means of happiness or of misery to mankind.

But it is not so much the absurdity as the evil of hereditary succession which concerns mankind. Did it ensure a race of good and wise men it would have the seal of divine authority, but as it opens a door to the foolish, the wicked; and the improper, it hath in it the nature of oppression. Men who look upon themselves born to reign, and others to obey, soon grow insolent; selected from the rest of mankind their minds are early poisoned by importance; and the world they act in differs so materially from the world at large, that they have but little opportunity of knowing its true interests, and when they succeed to the government are frequently the most ignorant and unfit of any throughout the dominions. Another evil which attends hereditary succession is, that the throne is subject to be possessed by a minor at any age; all which time the regency, acting under the cover of a king, have every opportunity and inducement to betray their trust. The same national misfortune happens, when a king worn out with age and infirmity, enters the last stage of human weakness. In both these cases the public becomes a prey to every miscreant, who can tamper successfully with the follies either of age or infancy. The most plausible plea, which hath ever been offered in favor of hereditary succession, is, that it preserves a nation from civil wars; and were this true, it would be weighty; whereas, it is the most barefaced falsity ever imposed upon mankind. The whole history of England disowns the fact. Thirty kings and two minors have reigned in that distracted kingdom since the conquest, in which time there have been (including the Revolution) no less than eight civil wars and nineteen rebellions. Wherefore instead of making for peace, it makes against it, and destroys the very foundation it seems to stand on.

A pretty business indeed for a man to be allowed eight hundred thousand sterling a year for, and worshipped into the bargain! Of more worth is one honest man to society, and in the sight of God, than all the crowned ruffians that ever lived.

What makes one families breeding better than everyone else’s? What makes one families knowledge or sense of justice better? Why is one families entitlement greater? Why does the full weight of the Law apply to us but not to one particular family?

Why can one family live in a ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY bed-roomed house, and not be liable for bedroom tax?

Why can one family claim benefits, for all it’s members, for as long as it wishes, without being sanctioned for not looking for real work?

Sixty Three years of cutting ribbons, breaking champagne bottles on ships; pressing the flesh with Dictators, Terrorists and Desert Royals, awarding medals to her own Ruritanian spawn.

Not real work is it?
